Roger E. Nix, D.V.M.
Dr. Nix is a veterinarian who hails originally from southern Indiana. He graduated from Purdue’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 1982 and has been practicing in the Indianapolis area ever since. He specializes in dog pediatrics and geriatrics — his passion for animal health even inspired the creation of JointCharge, a product that helps aging pets manage their joint pain and arthritis.
At home, Dr. Nix enjoys spending time with his wife and sons. He cares for a dog and a flock of chickens that produce a steady supply of fresh eggs for his family. His favorite activities outside of the hospital include flying, sailing, and traveling. Along with his reputation as a trusted cat and dog veterinarian in Fishers, Dr. Nix also owns a veterinary practice in Carmel, IN.
Carolyn Kacocha, D.V.M.
Dr. Carolyn Kacocha graduated from Purdue University in 2000 and worked at a 24-hour animal emergency hospital in Louisville, KY following her graduation.
While working in Louisville, Dr. Kacocha began volunteering for Alley Cat Advocates, a local Trap-Neuter-Return group. She also worked with the Woodstock Animal Foundation for five years before returning to the Indianapolis area.
Dr. Kacocha became the medical director of Indy Feral upon returning to Indiana. Indy Feral is an organization that opposes cruel outdoor animal control policies. At home, she enjoys spending time with her husband Jeff, along with their dog Java and four cats.
Veterinary Care Team Practice Manager
Our practice manager Julie has worked in pet veterinary care for the past 30 years, with 20 of them spent running the ICU department in a fast-paced emergency practice.
Julie has been married to her best friend for three years. They have two children: Ashley, a stay-at-home mom to two boys, and Nick, a professional pilot. In their spare time, Julie and her family love to be outside hiking, biking, camping, kayaking, fishing, and sitting by a fire. Julie often says that “life is good.”
Donna has worked with Dr. Nix since 1994. She has filled several positions with Dr. Nix, including kennel assistant, bather, and now groomer. She graduated from grooming school in 1997 and has been with Windermere Animal Hospital in Fishers since its 1998 opening.
Donna has two children — her daughter is an office manager at another animal hospital, and her son works homeland security at the Indianapolis airport. Donna’s also a proud member of the American White Shepherd Association.
Rory has been in the dog and cat grooming field for three years and has three of his own beautiful dogs.
He’s a dedicated Chicago Cubs fan who enjoys being active outside and playing disc golf. Rory also loves cooking up meals for his friends and family when he’s not pampering your pets.
Lauren has been a pet groomer for two years and is skilled in creative grooming, including adding a pop of bright color to your pet’s look.
Her art skills come from a storied background in fine art and theatre. Lauren is also an avid reader who is obsessed with science fiction. She continues to inspire her creative pet grooming work by painting in her free time.
